To be honest I would have said the very same thing had I not worked at the bbc's recording studios in maida vale. Having spent time with the engineers and the guys who take care of the accoustic treatment of the syudios there, I can say that all these things do have an effect on sound production and reproduction.
The only thing is... there are only about 2% of people with the capability of picking up these slight differences and 0.5% of those are babies whose ears have not been damaged in any way but most changes in frequency are beyond our range of hearing, so it really would make a noticable difference in your listening experience.
