His name was Evel and I had the wind up stunt bike when I was a kid. He had the stars-and-stripes cape and everything. Sparks would fly from his exhaust as he shot across the kitchen floor. Despite his incredible showmanship and patriotism, the Evel Knievel Stunt rider and Jetcycle could not cope with the impassable terrain that was a dining room carpet. He was also unable to jump a flight of stairs without crashing into a tangled mass of poseable limbs, twisted spokes and star-spangled parphenalia. This was just one of many dissapointments that would mark the end of my childhood.
