I think you will find James' camera will have a couple of options on what the camera will do. The throw away one just takes pictures!

Ah but your argument is all wrong Jeffboy - that's like comparing the high end audio kit with a low cost cheap offering - which I didn't do. I said:
QUOTE Quality of cabling, plugs and components I can understand but the other examples Olly pointed out are just manufacturers fleecing people (albeit of their own free will). It's like saying if I put an aftermarket shutter release button on my camera it will affect the quality of the light or the sensors ability to resolve it - will it fuck. And although finish quality on speaker enclosures and the environment may make the smallest difference to audio quality, replacing a knob on a pot (which is most likely mounted on a damper or malleable bush anyway) will not affect how a cd spins, how a laser reads or how electrons flow (at least not to any degree which is measurable (I smell the Heisenberg uncertainty principle coming into play here). -------------------- "We are number one, all others are number two or lower!" - The Sphinx, Mystery Men

Your wrong. What i am saying is that everything has a frequency that it resonates at due to the fact that everythig is atom based. You can affect how things behave by arranging the atoms in certain ways. A laquer can be produced in a certain way so that it responds differently to sound, light, heat etc etc. Whether it is worth a gazzillion bucks is neither here nor there. It will have an affect on what you hear or what a microphone picks up etc. The only reason it is so expensive is the fact that they only make small amounts of it due to the majority of people not needing it. My comparison was a simple one. both knobs rotate and give you control over the pot. Both knobs look ok but they are different in the quality of build and accoustic specifications. the cameras folow the same rules mate it is just that yours has a higher quality of build and optical specifaications. |

From the forums on the website:
QUOTE I'm planning to re-laquer my speakers using C37 laquer to further improve the sound. Should I strip the exising laquer or merely apply it over the top? I'm worried that the C37 may be incompatible with the existing (Unknown) laquer and may cause undesireable nuances. Any suggestions? -------------------- |
